Quality and Governance Project - CSW Sport Club Accreditation
Submitted by james on Tue, 31/08/2010 - 2:20pmworking to increase the number of sport clubs in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire achieving Clubmark or Charter Standard, the recognised quality assurance standards in sport.
34 clubs have received support to date.
10 clubs have achieved an accreditation in year 1
8 people have attended the National Clubmark Assessor workshop
One Local Authority has replicated the National Clubmark Assessor workshop, training more people to support clubs to achieve accreditation in their district.

CWIC is a partnership of voluntary sector infrastructure organisations who share their knowledge and experience and collaborate on
- service delivery
- lobbying
- funding
- purchasing
in order to strengthen the capacity and the voice of infrastructure services for the benefit of frontline voluntary and community groups
CWIC defines infrastructure as
'services strengthening physical facilities, structures, systems and relationships, as well as the people, knowledge and skills that help frontline (voluntary) organisations achieve their aims'.
The CWIC members are working together to:
- increase and sustain opportunities for volunteering
- support organisations access to and use of quality standards
- enable the sector to have a more effective voice through the framework of an Assembly

CWIC membership is open to VCS infrastructure support agencies based within Coventry and Warwickshire and operating either district, city or countywide. Agencies must demonstrate that their primary purpose is to provide infrastructure services for other VCS organisations.
